Max Verstappen Jokes About ’88 Missed Podiums’ After Achieving 100th Top Three Finish at Saudi Arabian GP

Max Verstappen Marks 100th Podium with Saudi GP Win, Jokes About ’88 Missed Podiums’

Max Verstappen celebrated his 100th career podium finish with a victory at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Saturday, reaching the milestone in just 187 races. Despite his achievement, the Dutchman humorously noted, “It’s 88 missed podiums!” but expressed satisfaction with reaching the landmark.

Verstappen dominated the race, finishing over 13 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Pérez, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc securing third place. This win extends Verstappen’s streak to nine consecutive victories and solidifies his bid for a fourth straight world championship.

While Verstappen and Red Bull are excelling on track, the team faces off-track controversy. Red Bull suspended a female employee who accused team principal Christian Horner of inappropriate behavior. Horner was cleared of wrongdoing last week.

In other notable performances, Ferrari’s Oliver Bearman made a strong debut, finishing seventh, though he found the race physically demanding. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished fourth, with Fernando Alonso fifth for Aston Martin and George Russell sixth for Mercedes. Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton finished eighth and ninth respectively, while Niko Hulkenberg completed the points in tenth.
